Sep 10, 2024, 07:30 AM
The French Farming Ministry has reported five probable cases of foodborne botulism in the country. The cases, detected on Tuesday, are linked to contaminated pesto sauce that had been sold at regional market fairs in central France. Botulism is a potentially fatal disease caused by toxins produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. As a precaution, France has withdrawn the pesto sauce brand associated with these cases.
