VisitFrance Deports 43-Year-Old Artist Omar bin Laden Over Terrorism Glorification
Oct 8, 2024, 02:30 PM
Omar bin Laden, the 43-year-old artist son of Osama bin Laden, has been deported from France and banned from returning after posting comments on social media that were deemed to glorify terrorism. French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau announced the decision, citing the nature of the posts, which appeared to praise his father on the anniversary of his death. Omar bin Laden, who had settled in a Normandy village with his British wife several years ago, was ordered to leave in 2023. The French government has taken additional steps to prevent his return for any reason. According to the French site Le Publicateur Libre, he was indicted for condoning terrorism before being released and subsequently deported.
