France Completes Training of First Cohort of Ukrainian Pilots on Alphajet Aircraft

France has successfully completed the training of the first cohort of Ukrainian pilots on Alphajet aircraft. The training, which began in March 2024, was conducted by the French Air Force to meet an operational need for Ukraine's Defense Ministry. The six-month training course aimed to prepare the Ukrainian pilots for eventual transition to F-16 fighter jets. The Alphajet's instrument panel mimics that of the F-16, providing relevant experience for the pilots. The French Armed Forces announced this initiative on Sept. 20 and described it as a demonstration of firm support for Ukraine's war effort.
