Four migrants, including a two-year-old child, have died while attempting to cross the English Channel from France to Britain. The fatalities occurred in two separate incidents involving overcrowded boats off the coast of the Pas-de-Calais region in France on Saturday morning. The Prefect of the Pas-de-Calais region confirmed that the victims include a child, a woman, and two men. According to French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, the child was trampled to death on an overcrowded boat. UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman called the deaths "appalling," highlighting the ongoing dangers faced by migrants attempting the perilous crossing.
