Jul 5, 2024, 01:00 AM
Multiple shark attacks occurred on the Fourth of July at South Padre Island, Texas, prompting the U.S. Coast Guard to advise beachgoers to stay out of the water. Four people were injured, with one woman suffering a severe bite to her leg. Game Warden Capt. Chris Dowdy reported that all the attacks happened within a span of two hours. Authorities noted that such shark encounters are not common in Texas. Police responded to the incidents on Thursday, which also included several shark sightings.
