VisitFour-Alarm Fire Engulfs Historic St. Anne’s Church in Toronto
Jun 9, 2024, 01:57 PM
A devastating fire broke out this morning at St. Anne’s Church, a historic landmark in Toronto's west-end neighborhood. The fire, which started around 7:55 am, has engulfed the dome of the church, which houses paintings from members of Canada’s legendary Group of Seven. Emergency crews, including police and multiple fire units, are on the scene battling the four-alarm blaze. Heavy smoke and breaking windows have been reported, and Gladstone Avenue is closed between College and Dundas due to the incident. Authorities have advised residents to use alternate routes to avoid delays in the area.
