Jun 19, 2024, 02:29 PM
Former Migori Governor Okoth Obado has reached a settlement with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to close a Ksh.1.9 billion asset case against him. Obado agreed to surrender high-end vehicles and properties valued at KES 235.6 million, including a Ksh.40 million home in Loresho. This agreement allows the EACC to seize eight properties and two motor vehicles, which were allegedly acquired with stolen public funds. As part of the deal, KES 2B corruption cases against Obado and his children will be dropped. The consent was reached at the High Court.
