Former DOJ Officials Urge Senate to Confirm Pam Bondi as U.S. Attorney General

More than 100 former senior officials from the U.S. Department of Justice, who served under both Democratic and Republican administrations, have urged the Senate to confirm Pam Bondi as the next U.S. Attorney General. The letter, signed by notable figures including former Attorneys General John Ashcroft, Jeff Sessions, Bill Barr, and Edwin Meese, praised Bondi's extensive experience as a prosecutor and her tenure as Florida's Attorney General. They highlighted her work in combating opioid abuse, human trafficking, and prosecuting violent crime, as well as her achievements in consumer protection and economic relief following the 2008 financial crisis and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The officials expressed confidence in Bondi's ability to uphold the rule of law and restore credibility to the Department of Justice.
