Aug 13, 2024, 03:30 PM
Ford Motor Co. and Mazda North American Operations have issued 'Do Not Drive' advisories for over 475,000 older vehicles in the U.S. due to unresolved Takata airbag recalls. The affected vehicles include Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury models from 2004 to 2014, and Mazda models from 2003 to 2015. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has highlighted the danger posed by these faulty airbag inflators, which have been linked to multiple fatalities. Specific models such as the Ford Mustang and Ranger pickup trucks are included in the advisory, which covers 457,000 vehicles. Owners of these vehicles are urged to stop driving them until the airbags are replaced.
