VisitFlorida Woman's Pizza Order 911 Call Leads to Arrest of Asylum-Seeking Illegal Immigrant for Attempted Rape
Oct 28, 2024, 04:29 PM
A woman in Volusia County, Florida, was rescued from an attempted rape after she discreetly called 911 pretending to order a pizza. The woman met the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo, at a bar where he had taken a line of cocaine. Hernandez-Moncayo, an illegal immigrant who had applied for asylum just the day before, allegedly attempted to assault her in a field. The 911 dispatcher quickly realized the woman was in danger and used her phone's location to direct deputies to her. Body camera footage released by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office shows officers arriving at the scene, apprehending the suspect, and rescuing the woman, who cried 'Thank you Jesus!' upon being saved.
