VisitFlorida Prepares for Hurricane Milton with 37,000 Linemen, 8,000 National Guard Members, 34 Aircraft

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has mobilized extensive resources in preparation for Hurricane Milton. Over 37,000 linemen, many from out of state, are on standby to restore power. Additionally, 8,000 National Guard members and 34 search and rescue aircraft are set to be deployed. The state has also secured 1.2 million gallons of fuel with trooper escorts and removed over 21,000 cubic yards of debris. DeSantis, speaking from Tallahassee, expressed gratitude to other states for their support, noting the unprecedented level of resources available before the storm's landfall. He also mentioned massive measures to lower casualties.
