The Florida Panthers have signed forward Carter Verhaeghe to an eight-year contract extension worth $56 million. The deal, which commences in the 2025-26 season, includes $48 million in signing bonuses, leaving Verhaeghe with a base salary of $1 million per season. This extension ensures Verhaeghe remains with the Panthers through the 2032-33 season. Panthers' General Manager Bill Zito announced the agreement, highlighting the team's commitment to Verhaeghe. This move makes Verhaeghe the seventh NHL player signed through the 2032-33 season. Vincent Viola, owner of the Panthers, emphasized the importance of Verhaeghe to the team, saying, 'Carter, please make sure you know you will remain always a Florida Panther.' The newly-married Verhaeghe is thrilled to set his family’s roots in South Florida.
