A tornado touched down in Northern California's Tehama County on Friday, marking the first confirmed tornado of 2025 in the United States. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area, which included Shingletown, Manton, and Paynes Creek, and was in effect until 6:00 PM PST. The tornado was reported to be moving northeast at around 20 miles per hour and was accompanied by quarter-sized hail. No damage or injuries have been reported from the tornado, which occurred in an unpopulated area. The event coincided with a winter storm warning for the region, bringing additional rain, high winds, and snow to higher elevations.
