VisitFire at Rostov Oil and Military Fuel Depots Burns for 10 Days After Drone Attack
Aug 28, 2024, 01:20 AM
A significant fire at the Rosrezerva oil depot in Proletarsk, Rostov region, Russia, has been burning for ten days following a Ukrainian drone attack on August 18, 2024. The depot, which took 15 years to build, has been largely destroyed, resulting in the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of military fuel. Efforts to extinguish the fire have been partially successful, with one area put out using foam, while three others continue to burn. The incident has forced Russia to ration fuel, affecting even commercial passenger jets. The regional governor reported that four drones were shot down near Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. Additionally, the Atlas military fuel depot was struck again, exacerbating the situation.
