VisitFCC Chair Proposes AI Disclosure Requirement for Political Ads on Radio and TV

On May 22, US Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel proposed a measure that would require political advertisements on radio and TV to disclose when they use content generated by artificial intelligence (AI). This proposal marks the federal government’s first foray into regulating the use of AI in political campaigns. The FCC will consider the rules for AI-generated political ads, although it currently cannot regulate streaming services.
