FBI Report Shows Significant Decline in Violent Crime for 2023, Murders Down 11.6%

The FBI has released its annual crime report for 2023, revealing a significant decline in violent crime across the United States. According to the data, violent crime fell by an estimated 3% from 2022 to 2023. Notably, murders and non-negligent manslaughter dropped by 11.6%, marking the largest single-year decline in two decades. Reported rapes also decreased by more than 9%. The report highlighted a decrease in property crime by 2.4%. However, the data showed an increase in hate crimes and motor vehicle thefts, with the latter rising by 12.6%. The report covers 94% of the U.S. population, providing a comprehensive overview of national crime trends.
