The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has quietly revised its 2022 violent crime statistics, revealing that violent crime increased by 4.5% in 2022, rather than decreasing by 2.1% as initially reported in September 2023. The updated data, released without announcement, indicates an additional 80,029 violent crimes compared to 2021. This includes 1,699 more murders, 7,780 additional rapes, 33,459 more robberies, and 37,091 aggravated assaults.
