FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the House Judiciary Committee that Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter involved in the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, was flying a drone approximately two hours before the incident. The drone was flown about 200 yards from the rally venue in Butler, Pennsylvania, and was in the air for around 11 minutes from 3:40 to 4 p.m. The FBI recovered the drone and its controller from Crooks' vehicle and is currently analyzing it. Wray indicated that Crooks may have been livestreaming the drone footage. Additionally, explosive devices were found in Crooks' possession.
