VisitFBI Arrests Homeless Florida Man, Harun Yener, in NYSE Bomb Plot to "Reset" Government
Nov 21, 2024, 02:00 AM
The FBI has arrested a homeless Florida man, 30-year-old Harun Abdul-Malik Yener from Coral Springs, on Wednesday, charging him with plotting to bomb the New York Stock Exchange this week. According to charging documents unsealed on Wednesday, Yener intended to detonate an explosive device at the exchange using a remote-controlled device to "reboot" or "reset" the U.S. government. The FBI began investigating Yener in February after receiving a tip about bomb-making schematics found in his storage unit. Undercover agents engaged with him, during which he allegedly expressed a desire to "hit" the NYSE, stated he "feels like Bin Laden," and revealed he considered joining ISIS in 2015. He has been charged with attempting to use an explosive device to damage or destroy a building used in interstate commerce.
