The FBI has announced the arrest of 28-year-old Houston resident Anas Said on charges of attempting to provide material support to ISIS and planning a terrorist attack on U.S. soil. FBI Houston Special Agent in Charge Douglas Williams stated that Said allegedly created propaganda videos, social media posts, and recruiting materials for the terrorist organization. According to court documents, Said admitted to planning a terrorist attack and bragged that he would commit a "9/11-style" attack if he had the resources. He also researched how to conduct attacks on local military recruiting centers. Said was arrested on November 8 by the FBI, the Houston Police Department, and the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
