This decision is part of a broader six-year agreement aimed at restructuring the competition. The final of the FA Cup will now take place before the last round of the Premier League season, with no league fixtures staged on that weekend. The EFL has expressed dissatisfaction with this decision, highlighting the financial impact on lower-league clubs and is seeking compensation.
