Exxon Mobil has won the right to pump carbon dioxide beneath Texas state waters in the Gulf of Mexico, securing over 271,000 acres for offshore CO2 capture. The oil giant has agreed to remove 6.7 million tons of CO2 from emitters, expanding its Gulf Coast carbon storage network. This grants Exxon the largest U.S. offshore carbon storage site in Texas.
