An explosion at an explosives factory in the village of Kavaklı in the Karesi district of Balıkesir province in northwestern Turkey killed 11 people and injured 7 others, according to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. The blast occurred on Tuesday at a facility producing explosives and ammunition, destroying the building and damaging nearby structures. Yerlikaya stated that among the deceased are 8 women and 3 men. Authorities have ruled out any suspicion of sabotage at this time, and an investigation into the cause of the explosion has been initiated.
