VisitEU Imposes First Sanctions on Iran for Supplying Ballistic Missiles to Russia
Oct 14, 2024, 10:10 AM
The European Union has imposed sanctions on Iran for supplying ballistic missiles and drones to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine. On October 14, EU foreign ministers agreed to sanction seven individuals, including prominent Iranian officials, and seven entities involved in the transfer of these weapons, including three Iranian airlines: Saha Airlines, Mahan Air, and Iran Air. The sanctions target those responsible for providing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles, and related technology to aid Russia's military actions in Ukraine. This marks the EU's first set of sanctions specifically addressing Iran's transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia.
