VisitEU Countries Ready to Boost Military, Financial Aid to Ukraine Amid Potential US Reduction
Nov 20, 2024, 06:52 AM
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced on November 19 that major European Union countries are prepared to increase military and financial aid to Ukraine if the United States reduces its support. This readiness comes in light of potential changes in U.S. policy under a new administration. Sikorski expressed gratitude for the willingness of the EU's largest nations to take on the burden of supporting Ukraine. The announcement was made following a meeting in Warsaw with foreign ministers from Poland, Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Spain, and the future EU Foreign Policy chief from Estonia, Kaja Kallas, to discuss strategies for supporting Ukraine if U.S. military aid decreases next year.
