The European Union has announced an additional funding allocation of €1 billion to Turkey to assist with the care of Syrian refugees. This announcement was made by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during her visit to Ankara. Since 2011, the EU has provided Turkey with a total of €10 billion to support its efforts in hosting millions of refugees. The new funding aims to address ongoing humanitarian needs as Turkey continues to manage a significant refugee population amid regional instability.
