VisitESA Fixes Ariane 6 APU Anomaly Ahead of Second Flight
Sep 16, 2024, 02:21 PM
The European Space Agency (ESA) has identified and addressed the root cause of an anomaly in the Ariane 6 rocket's auxiliary power unit (APU) during its maiden flight. The Ariane 6 Task Force traced the issue to a temperature sensor exceeding its limits. A software fix has been implemented to correct the problem, and testing is underway to validate the solution. The ESA confirmed that there are no major obstacles for the second flight of Ariane 6, known as F-2, which will include a new chill-down sequence to prevent similar issues.
