Jun 13, 2024, 09:48 PM
Elon Musk announced that Tesla has completed the design of their Hardware version 5 computer, now called AI 5. Hardware 5 is expected to be released at the end of 2025 and is described as being roughly ten times better than Hardware 4, which itself is three to eight times better than Hardware 3. Musk also mentioned that AI Hardware 5 will be able to handle peak loads of up to 700 or 800 watts. Additionally, Tesla plans to release a Hardware 4 specific model trained at Gigafactory Texas later this year. Musk emphasized that Tesla has the best AI software and AI chip in the world, and significant improvements in Full Self-Driving (FSD) supervised capabilities are expected with each update, ranging from 5 to 10X improvements.
