Nov 14, 2024, 09:47 PM
Elon Musk, a close adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, met with Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Saied Iravani, in New York on Monday. The meeting was described by two Iranian officials as a discussion on how to defuse tensions between Iran and the U.S. during the next Trump term. The Iranians, speaking anonymously, characterized the meeting as 'positive' and 'good news.' Musk reportedly requested the meeting, aiming to address the strained relations between the two nations. An Iranian Foreign Ministry official mentioned that Ambassador Iravani suggested Musk obtain sanctions exemptions from the Treasury and bring some of his businesses to Tehran.
