VisitElon Musk's xAI Launches Grok-2 AI Models, Competes with ChatGPT for X Premium Users
Aug 14, 2024, 05:45 PM
Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, xAI, has launched Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini, the latest versions of its AI assistant, in a bid to compete with leading models like ChatGPT. These new models feature significant improvements in chat, coding, and reasoning capabilities, along with a new image generation tool similar to OpenAI's DALL-E and Google's Gemini. Grok-2 is available in beta for X Premium and Premium+ users, with an enterprise API set to debut later in August. The models reportedly outperform Claude Sonnet 3.5 and GPT-4 Turbo on independent benchmarks, including the LMSYS leaderboard. Grok-2's image generation feature, using FLUX.1 by Black Forest Labs, allows users to create images of public figures and copyrighted brands without content guardrails, raising discussions on AI ethics and content moderation.
