VisitElon Musk's X Faces Nine EU GDPR Complaints Over Grok's AI Data Use
Aug 13, 2024, 01:40 AM
Elon Musk's X, formerly known as Twitter, is facing nine privacy complaints in the European Union over its use of personal data to train its AI system, Grok. The complaints, filed by the privacy group 'None of Your Business' (noyb), allege that X violated several GDPR principles, including transparency and operational rules. The complaints have been lodged in eight European countries, including Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, and Spain. The Irish Data Protection Commission's previous court action against X did not address these core violations, prompting noyb to call for a full investigation. The complaints cite violations of Articles 5(1) and (2) of the GDPR.
