VisitElon Musk's Alleged Meeting with Iran's UN Ambassador Denied by Tehran
Nov 16, 2024, 04:20 AM
Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and close adviser to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, reportedly met with Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, in New York on November 11. The meeting, which lasted over an hour at a secret location, was described by Iranian officials as positive and focused on ways to defuse tensions between Tehran and Washington. Iran asked for sanctions relief and suggested Musk bring some of his businesses to Tehran. National security experts raised concerns over the meeting, with some noting potential Logan Act violations. Musk, referred to as Trump's 'First Buddy', reportedly sought to ease tensions ahead of the new administration. However, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi later categorically denied that any meeting took place, calling the reports fabricated.
