Elon Musk, a close adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, met with Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saied Iravani, on Monday in New York. Musk requested the meeting, which lasted over an hour, to discuss how to defuse tensions between Iran and the United States during the upcoming Trump administration. An Iranian Foreign Ministry official said the ambassador suggested Musk should receive sanctions exemptions from the U.S. Treasury Department and bring some of his businesses to Tehran.
