Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, has proposed that Mars should adopt a direct democracy system for its governance. In a recent statement on social media, Musk suggested that 'Martians will decide how they are ruled' and recommended direct democracy over representative forms. He also outlined SpaceX's timeline for Mars missions, stating that uncrewed Starships could land on Mars in approximately two years, with crewed versions possibly passing near Mars, and crewed Starships heading to the planet in about four years. Musk emphasized the complexity and scale of the Starship project, noting it as the largest rocket ever made, with a thrust and mass double that of the Saturn V, and designed to be fully and rapidly reusable.
