May 19, 2024, 05:44 PM
Elon Musk has arrived in Bali, Indonesia, to launch SpaceX's Starlink Internet service in the country on May 19. The service aims to improve internet access in remote parts of Indonesia, including its numerous islands, and particularly in the health sector. Starlink has been installed at 10 strategic points within the central government core area of Indonesia's capital city. The launch is expected to benefit millions of people living in Indonesia's remote islands. Musk met with several Indonesian officials, including President Joko Widodo and Chief Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, to discuss potential investments in the country. Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin highlighted that Starlink would enable 2,700 community health centers that had difficulties getting internet access and another 700 that didn’t have internet access to now be connected.
