VisitElon Musk Launches Starlink in Bali with President Joko Widodo to Enhance Remote Connectivity
May 19, 2024, 06:47 AM
Elon Musk has arrived in Bali, Indonesia, to launch SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service. The launch aims to provide internet connectivity to millions living in Indonesia's remote islands. Musk was greeted by Chief Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and will attend the 10th World Water Forum. The Indonesian government is urging Musk to build a network operations center for Starlink in the country. The service is expected to significantly enhance internet access in remote areas, where current options are either non-existent or prohibitively expensive. Starlink has already been installed at 10 strategic points within the central government core area of Indonesia's capital city. Additionally, President Joko Widodo will join Musk in inaugurating Starlink at a community health center in Denpasar City, Bali.
