VisitElon Musk Amplified Content from Russia-Funded Media Outlet Tenet 60 Times
Sep 20, 2024, 12:03 PM
Elon Musk has been found to have engaged with and amplified content from Tenet Media, a right-wing media outlet allegedly funded by Russia. According to an analysis by NBC News, Musk interacted with content from Tenet Media at least 60 times, apparently unaware of its Russian funding. The outlet, now defunct, was covertly funded by Russia Today. This revelation has sparked concerns about misinformation on social media platforms, with Poynter highlighting that Musk made 50 false or misleading posts about the U.S. elections between January 1 and July 31, generating nearly 1.2 billion views. Clinton has called for action in light of these revelations. Additionally, leaked documents expose Musk and MTG spreading Kremlin propaganda in a Putin-directed disinformation campaign.
