Eli Lilly announced plans to invest $4.5 billion in a new advanced manufacturing and drug development center in Indiana. The facility, named the Lilly Medicine Foundry, aims to drive innovation in drug production and manufacture medicines for future clinical trials. Scheduled to open in late 2027, the project is expected to create 400 full-time jobs and increase Eli Lilly's U.S. capital commitment to $23 billion. The new center will be located in the LEAP Research and Innovation District and will combine research and manufacturing in a single location. The investment will also boost API production for Tirzepatide and other pipeline medicines.
