Canadian fencer Eleanor Harvey has made history by winning Canada's first-ever Olympic medal in fencing. The 29-year-old Hamilton native secured the bronze medal in the women's individual foil event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She advanced to the semifinals after a narrow 15-14 victory over Italy's Martina Favaretto and later faced USA's Lauren Scruggs. Harvey's win at the Grand Palais marks Canada's best finish in an individual fencing event and is the country's second medal at the Paris Olympics.
