Elaine Thompson-Herah, the reigning 100-meter Olympic champion and five-time Olympic medalist from Jamaica, suffered an apparent Achilles tendon injury during the 100 meters at the USATF NYC Grand Prix on Sunday. Thompson-Herah had to be carried off the track after grabbing her right ankle at the finish line. She finished last in the race with a time of 11.48 seconds, running against a headwind of -2.1 meters per second.
