El Mencho's Son-in-Law 'El Guacho' Arrested in Riverside for Drug Trafficking After Faking Death

Cristian Fernando Gutiérrez Ochoa, also known as "El Guacho," a 37-year-old high-ranking member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and son-in-law of its leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, "El Mencho," has been arrested in Riverside, California. Gutiérrez Ochoa allegedly faked his death in 2021 to evade law enforcement and had been living a life of luxury under a false identity. U.S. authorities accuse him of directing the importation of tons of methamphetamine and cocaine into the United States over the past decade. He faces charges including drug trafficking and money laundering and is said to have used darknet platforms for nationwide distribution of narcotics.
