EFJ to Cease X Posts from Jan 20, 2025, as Trump Returns, Citing Disinformation Under Musk

The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), the largest organization of journalists in Europe representing over 295,000 journalists across 44 countries, has announced it will stop posting content on X (formerly known as Twitter) from January 20, 2025, when Donald Trump becomes the US president. The EFJ stated that Elon Musk has transformed the platform into a "machine of disinformation and propaganda". This move reflects growing concerns among media organizations about the spread of misinformation on social media platforms, particularly in the context of political developments such as Trump's return to the White House.
