Jan 4, 2025, 09:02 AM
Edward Pettifer, a 31-year-old British man from Chelsea, was among the 14 victims killed in a terror attack in New Orleans on New Year's Day. The attack, carried out by Shamsud-Din Jabbar, involved a vehicle ramming into crowds in the city's French Quarter. Pettifer was the stepson of Tiggy Legge-Bourke, the former nanny to Prince William and Prince Harry. King Charles III expressed deep sadness over Pettifer's death and has been in contact with his family to offer personal condolences. The attack also claimed the lives of other victims, including a Princeton University football player and an aspiring nurse. At least 35 people were injured in the incident. Jabbar, a 42-year-old Texan and former US Army veteran, was killed by police after the attack, which the FBI is investigating as an act of terrorism linked to the Islamic State group, with an ISIS flag found in the vehicle.
