VisitED Raids Residences of Siddaramaiah, Nagendra, and Daddal in Karnataka Over MUDA and Valmiki Scams
Jul 10, 2024, 05:27 AM
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted multiple raids in Karnataka as part of investigations into two major scams. The first involves the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, where a police complaint has been filed against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi, her brother Mallikarjun, Devaraj, and other officials. The second is the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation scam, which has led to raids at the residences of former minister B. Nagendra and Congress MLA Basanagouda Daddal in Raichur, Bengaluru, and Ballari. The ED's actions are part of a broader money laundering probe, with searches conducted at approximately 20 locations. The BJP has demanded resignations from those implicated, including CM Siddaramaiah, citing the alleged 4,000-5,000 crore scam. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is also involved in the probe.
