Turkey's AFAD disaster authority reported the quake had a magnitude of 5.9 in the Malatya region, while the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) stated it was 6.1. Tremors were felt across at least three provinces in Turkey and were also experienced in neighboring countries, including Syria and Lebanon, with shaking reported in Beirut and Tripoli. The quake occurred near the border with Syria.
