Jun 13, 2024, 03:39 PM
Merrill Reese, the longtime radio voice of the Philadelphia Eagles, has been chosen to receive the 2024 Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to broadcasting in professional football. Reese, who is entering his 48th year as the Eagles' play-by-play announcer, is only the third local team broadcaster to win this award in its 35-year history. He will be honored during the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week in early August in Canton, Ohio. Reese expressed his surprise at receiving the award, stating, 'I was shocked. Absolutely shocked.' Jim Porter, president of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, highlighted Reese's dedication to his career. No one in NFL history has done it longer.
