VisitE. coli Outbreak Over: 104 Sickened, 1 Dead Across 34 States Linked to McDonald's
Dec 3, 2024, 06:20 PM
U.S. health officials have declared that the E. coli outbreak linked to slivered onions served on McDonald's Quarter Pounder hamburgers is over. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that the outbreak investigation has been closed after determining there is no longer a safety risk to the public. The outbreak, first reported on October 22, sickened 104 people across 34 states, with 34 hospitalizations and one reported death. The recalled onions, supplied by Taylor Farms, are past their shelf-life, eliminating the current risk.
