Jun 11, 2024, 11:40 AM
On June 6, Dutch nationalist Geert Wilders' anti-immigration party made significant gains in the European Parliament elections. An exit poll showed Wilders' PVV party tied for first place with the Labour/Green combination. Despite the gains, a coalition of left-wing parties won the most Dutch seats, securing eight seats, while Wilders' PVV secured six seats. Following the elections, Wilders announced on June 11 that political parties in the Netherlands have agreed on the formation of a new right-wing government.
