Drake has initiated legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify, alleging that the two companies conspired to artificially inflate the popularity of Kendrick Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us." In a filing on Monday in Manhattan court, Drake's legal entity Frozen Moments LLC accused UMG and Spotify of using bots, payola, deceptive business practices, and false advertising to boost Kendrick Lamar's track while suppressing his own music. UMG responded to the allegations, calling them "offensive and untrue," and stated, "No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear." The lawsuit underscores the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
