VisitDP Gachagua Faces Impeachment Calls, Reveals Six-Point Strategy
Sep 29, 2024, 04:11 PM
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is facing significant political turmoil, with accusations of tribalism and calls for his impeachment. Farouk Kibet and a section of MPs have accused Gachagua of promoting tribal politics, leading to increased tensions within the government. Gachagua has responded by defending his actions, stating that he is being targeted for speaking the truth and advocating for the interests of the Mt. Kenya region. He also compared the current political climate to the divisive tactics used during the Moi era. Amid these allegations, Gachagua has called for unity within the Mt. Kenya region and urged MPs to respect the will of the people. Additionally, Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has demanded Gachagua's arrest, further intensifying the political drama. Gachagua has denied any wrongdoing, asserting that he has no interest in financial gains and is solely focused on serving the people. Gachagua has also revealed a six-point strategy to counter the ouster bid and allegedly demanded Sh4,000 for every vote President Ruto received in Mt. Kenya.
